Silence Community Social Media Guidelines

Home / Silence Community Social Media Guidelines

Thank you for being part of the Silence Therapeutics community!

At Silence, we are on a mission to use our RNAi technology to potentially target and silence disease-associated genes to transform peoples’ lives around the world. Our social media channels will be used to share company news and milestones, disease awareness, things we are excited about, more about the science of Silence and our RNAi technology, thought leadership from the people who work at Silence, and information about events and conferences we are participating in. We think social media is a great way to connect with employees, healthcare professionals, disease advocacy partners, and others. To make sure our social media channels stay positive, relevant, useful and trusted,  we have established a few page guidelines for ourselves and our audience.

We also work in a highly regulated industry so it is important we adhere to specific guidelines to ensure compliance. When you engage with Silence Therapeutics on social media, you are agreeing to these Social Media Guidelines and those of the respective social media platforms. As of March 2022, Silence Therapeutics is only active on LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. All other channels should be reported.

On Silence Social Media, We Will:

Be Positive and Respectful

The Silence social media channels are a place for people to connect and learn about Silence Therapeutics, precision engineered medicines and the disease areas we work in. We are excited about the new generation of medicines we are working to develop and the potential they have to address unmet needs. Please join us in this positivity and avoid negative comments or interactions with Silence Therapeutics or our community. When posting on the page or engaging with content, please be respectful and courteous. Avoid profanity, discriminatory language, illegal behavior, or anything negative in general. If our team finds your post going against this guideline, we will remove it.

Engage and Share Third-Party Content

When Silence Therapeutics shares, comments or engages with content it should not be considered an endorsement of a company, product or person. Occasionally we will share relevant third-party content to provide value to our community and it means just that, we like the content.

Share Educational Content But Not Medical Advice

Our Silence Therapeutics social media channels will be used to share educational content either from our team at Silence or reputable third-party organizations. While we have many experts within the walls of Silence, we will never provide medical advice. Please always talk to your doctor about any health concerns. We ask that you as a community do not try to diagnose any health issues or provide medical advice to each other.

Delete Comments, If Necessary

We encourage you to comment and engage with Silence content. However, please be aware that Silence Therapeutics reserves the right to delete any posting at its sole discretion. If you feel your post has been removed unfairly, please message us directly to discuss.

On Silence Social Media, We Will Not:

Allow Branded Product Conversations

The FDA has strict guidelines about how prescription products and those still in the clinical trial phase are talked about online. These guidelines ensure that products are always talked about with fair balance included. Because of this, we will remove any posts that reference the branded name of our competitors. We may also delete any posts that reference Silence clinical trial products with claims or misleading information. If you are looking for information about our products in development, please visit www.silencetherapeutics.com/ourpipeline.

Discuss Adverse Events

Social media is not the place to report any adverse events to a medicine you react to. It’s important you report these directly to the FDA. To report adverse events, please contact the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088. If you are a non-U.S. visitor, please ask your local healthcare provider for more information on reporting adverse events. That being said, if you do post here, we will follow protocol for reporting the event.

Promote or Help Sell External Products

Silence’s social media channels are meant to be about community, science, innovation, and content related to Silence. Please don’t use the page to promote your product or service, or to post external links to irrelevant content. If we feel content is promotional, we reserve the right to remove it.

Respond to Every Comment and Message

We hope you’ll feel inspired to comment on our content and engage within Silence’s social media channels. We monitor these pages regularly and do our best to respond to all comments and messages. However, please note there is some content we are not able to respond to. We will do our best to respond to any comment or message that is aligned with our internal social media response protocol.

Silence is committed to advancing a new generation of medicines intended to address the needs of patients who have limited or inadequate treatment options. Thank you for being part of the journey by connecting with us on social media!
