1999: Silence Therapeutics AG, Berlin (formerly Atugen AG) was founded as spin-off from Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals Inc. (later renamed to Sirna Therapeutics Inc.) funded by MPM Capital (US$7m). The company’s core business focused on target discovery and validation collaborations with leading pharma companies using its proprietary antisense and delivery technologies.
